Duralast Power Station 1200 Manual
I got this a few years ago from Costco. They no longer carry it. Instruction manual states that it needs to be charged at least once a month.
My bad, I haven't been doing that. So is there anything that can be done, or is the battery just beyond salvageable, and I should just get rid of it? It's been plugged in to a wall outlet to charge for the last 2 days, still not charged. Thanks, Try this. Connect the battery/compressor to one of your vehicles, start it up and run the vehicle for 10 or 15 minutes. Then try your charger again. You may find that current will now flow and charge the battery.

Just did this on my Vette battery which would not take a charge. It's charging now. Lead acid batteries left sitting for long periods have their lead plates sulfated and are not recoverable. Replace the battery and keep it charged.
The best way is to keep a trickle charger on it. Sulfated batteries that appear to be, 'fixed', and take a charge, you will find out the hard way that they have little reserve time and CCA ratings because you cannot get very much of the sulfation off the plates and these batteries quickly become dead again. Never leave lead acid batteries sitting doing nothing for long periods of time (4+ wks), it ruins them!!!
You can take them apart and replace the battery, but I'm sure it's not worth it. They last for many years if you keep them charged. I have more problems with the compressors. I've bought ones with bad batteries to just to steal the compressors.If there is a Batteries + in your area, they have replacement batteries you can install. Easy to do, just lots of screws holding the case together.
I have like this that I got at Costco and the compressor went TU after a month. The compressor switch lasted about a week and I replaced it with a lighted toggle switch. I'm looking for one of these battery packs that have a dead battery so I can swap out the compressor. On the other hand, anyone know if it's bad to just keep the jumper box continually plugged into the wall socket?
Is that just as bad to over charge it?Most of the jumper packs directions says it's OK to leave the power cord connected. There's supposed to be a maintainer type of circuit (like battery tenders) that keeps the battery fro being overcharged. At our shop, we have 3 different jumper packs and all of them are always plugged in with the charger cord. One pack is 5 years old and still working fine. The others are 3 years old. These packs also get abused by the techs.

Sometimes the pack is left attached to a running engine that has a completely dead battery. The packs come right back after a near-complete discharge.
